Our boutique law firm, Harvey Nossel and Co once owned a flash building in Anderson street in the early 1980s, seems impossible to imagine from Australia in the 21st century. Seems like it was a dream
I used to shortcut through town on weekends, picking up mates from the airport or Eastgate, and to be fair, Anderson Street was already going this way as far back as 1991/2, well before our new gubbermint took over, and gave carte blanche for the rot to set in.
Essentially this is systemic to any major metropolis, as decentralisation occurs; many estates in the UK Midlands resemble same.
Yes, I agree, it would be wrong to say that all this has only happened 'since 1994' -- the Third Worldisation of Johannesburg has been underway since the late 1980s, although it has picked up steam in the last 5 -7 years.
TRR, I don't know, I have not studied the sociology of either.
However being a bleedin' 'art liberal, I tend to take the view that the decay (in this thread, and the rest of the blog) is as a result of the inhabitants simply being unruly, uncaring thugs, who don't give a toss about pride in their surroundings, and who would rather take and destroy, than any other option. Not simply 'because they're black'. The reason I say that, is that the world over, you will find folks of other ethnic persuasions who have the same 'don't care / f*ck you' mentality.
That all said, I have no intention of minimising your observations, the pictures are sufficiently graphic, and generally quite sad.
My wife (was still my girlfriend back then, 1996) lived in Yeoville, and we used to venture into Rocky Street, and further east occasionally, and although it wasn't a Sunday picnic, it was reasonably safe. The degeneration in ten years is rather startling.
I was also very sad to Anderson Street and wondered at the way it was now when I looked at your Hillbrow photos. In the late 80's I did my articles at a top law firm called Deneys Reitz who had a very nice building in Anderson St. "Seems like it was a dream" as one of your commentators said so aptly before. I have wonderful memories of working there, but am happy not to live there now.
I used to go to the Gym in the old IGI building cnr Anderson and Main. I remember Harvey Nossel and co. Hoskins used to be there as well. IGI building was where Investec started up.
The IGI building cannot possibly be on the corner of Main and Anderson. Those two streets run parallel. It is on Mooi Street. I used to go to the canteen there when I worked at the Penrose Press in City and Suburban.
its like this cos there are riff raff living there so no investemnt from companies...its just a normal typical 'bad pr tof town' like you get all over the world. ever been to LA, NYC, San Fran, San Diego, London...the real realist said it well.
My God, this is a stark warning for all white countries under the control of the filthy Liberal Left. Parts of Britain are as bad too...while the corrupt media force feed us with Black appreciation propaganda! Perhaps this is part of the Armageddon that is destroying civilisation?, similar to Planet of the Apes.
is there any way we can stop comic relief raising money for these "people" (and i use the term losely) i spent 20 years in jo-burg, and thought i was a hard bastard but this brings me to tears, why raise money for them when some fucker will just steal it
Yeah, I live in Joburg. Care about it too, as I sit on the local residents association, work closely with the CPF and councillors. Doing my bit, one could say. These photos don't convey half of the degradation. The city improvement disctricts can't keep up with the destruction caused by the "inhabitants". Joburg city centre is screwed, Hillbrow even more so - these photos are merely the tip of the iceberg. Worst of all - you can't do anything. THe Metro police are will not even deign a community meeting with their presence and they "don't work after dark". The SAPS is corrupt and rotten to the core, whihc precludes any form of concerted police action. Crime is way, way, way out of control. It's a sh!thole, but it's our sh!thole. Ain't gonna change, so like it or leave it...
"Looks like any inner city in the US now...And still most whites don't get it."
That's because of who controls the media, academia, and Hollywood. How are those few Whites who do "get it" ever going to get the message out to the rest, if they don't have control of the information-dissemating channels? They can't, and Whites continue slumbering toward thier deaths. Already, thanks to the hostile invading tribe, non-White children already out-number White children. The future is practically sealed; in 20 years, Whites will be minorities in every country. Henry Ford, Charles Limbaugh, and David Dake were right, these people -- the ones now in control of our White countries -- are EVIL!
As I understand it you are about to get a populist communist government.
I'm told that M'bki (is that the right spelling?) was a true Marxist. i.e. Marx said if you need capital capitalism is the way to go and it will be a hard road.
It appears from very far away that the new guy doesn't get it.
This web-site "hellhole" would be more interesting if it also had pictures of the ghettos in your "beloved south africa" in the 70s and 80s. Pictures of the police. The prisons. When you were enjoying the beauty of Johannesburg, so all alone in a country- full of suffering people hidden from your face.
For anyone wishing to really see what's in store for Johannesburg, Google "The Ruins of Detroit," and be prepared to be sick. I can't understand how this was allowed to happen in America. Looking at the horrifying photographs convinces me that we've paid for slavery a million times over and will continue to pay....forever.

I dedicate this to you, my hero!
Looks like Detroit, Compton, Camden, East St. Louis, or any other city overrun by Africans.

I expect SA will go the way of Zimbabwe. Shame.
